AP Projection
- Patient in upright position;
- Abduction of the arm;
- Rotate slightly (20-25º) toward the affected side.
Central ray
perpendicular to the mid scapular and 5 cm inferior to the coracoid process.
Respiration:
Suspended.
Evaluation
Criteria:
- Lateral portion of the scapula free of superimposed from the ribs;
- Visualization of the acromion process and inferior angle;
- Appropriate exposure values (visualization of the all bony trabeculation and soft tissue).
Scapular Y
- Patient in upright position;
- Position the anterior surface in the table;
- Rotate the patient 70-75º in the way to the surface of scapula it is perpendicular to the IP.
Central ray
angled 15º minimum caudad to the angle supior of the scapula.
Respiration:
Suspended.
Evaluation
Criteria:
- Scapula in profile;
- Acromion free of superimposed;
- Appropriate exposure values (visualization of the all bony trabeculation and soft tissue).
